Climbing

   Boulder:

It's a mecca for bouldering enthusiasts, ranked second in Southern Europe and the most popular in Spain, making this place special.

Located in the protected landscape of the Pinares del Rodeno, it offers a variety of boulders with uniquely shaped lines. There are two areas for practicing climbing: the Albarracin and Bezas areas, where climbing becomes a pleasure for the senses.

The reddish color of its fine sandstone, together with the natural rock formations and the resinous pine forest, make a perfect combination.

It's also important to note that the park is a protected area, home to many species of flora and fauna, and we must follow certain rules to ensure we can continue climbing and to ensure the coexistence of the habitat itself and the climbers.

Current regulations as of April 2022:

Climbing is prohibited on the boulders visible from the forest track from Albarracin to Dornaque.

Climbing is prohibited within a 30 m radius of rock shelters containing rock art.

Night climbing is prohibited. Equipment must be collected at sunset.

The use of clecas is prohibited and the use of magnesium should be minimized.

Climbing is prohibited in Sol, Masia, Acantilados, Mirador and Peninsula.

Single-pitch sport climbing:

At the exit of Albarracin towards the Sierra is El Muro, a limestone slab approximately 20 metres high that houses grades ranging from 6a to 8a .

It stands out for its variety of overhanging and vertical lines, with around twenty equipped ones making the school a privileged place for rope climbing and with incredible views of the city listening to the Guadalaviar River.
